Tuhi Mai, Tuhi Atu Blog Buddies!

This term we are excited to be a part of Tuhi Mai, Tuhi Atu. We are looking forward to getting to know our new buddy class from Gilberthorpe School in Christchurch.

    Hi Room 8! Our class is called Te Rōpū Māia. We are in Te Ara Whakatau (Junior Hub) at Ara Tū Whakata - Gilberthorpe School. Did you receive our surprise in your mailbox yet? Your video is very cool and we loved seeing it. Your classroom looks a bit like ours. We have 26 students in Te Rōpū Māia and 97 students in Te Ara Whakatau. We would love to see a photo of the outside of your building. We really like your values. Our school uses the FISH! values. Our FISH! values are Play, Be There, Choose Your Attitude and Make Someone's Day. We have FISH! tickets for when we are showing our values. If we get lots of FISH! tickets we can hopefully win the draw and get a special prize like going to McDonald's for lunch with the Principal. We look forward to seeing what you think of our blog!     Hi Te Rōpū Māia! We were so excited to get your postcards and learn a little bit about your classroom. Thank you for the special surprise. We have 19 students in our classroom and 57 students in Takahe. Takahe is what we call our junior students, the middle students are called Hoiho and the seniors are called Kea. We really like your values too, they sound interesting, nice and kind. Wow! We have something similar to your FISH! tickets in our school too. We have tokens for when we show respectful and responsible behaviour. When we get lots of tokens we also get a whole school prize, last time we chose a water fun day and it was super fun. We also have a token draw every Friday and if you get your name drawn out you get a small prize to take home. At our school we have 7 classrooms and 168 students, how many classrooms do you have at your school and how many students do you have? We will take some photos of around our school and share them on our blog to show you what our school looks like. Maybe you could do the same as we would love to see what your school and classroom looks like.

    Hi Room 8, we like the way you told us about your different abilities. This reminds us of when we were younger and we had to say what we liked. Maybe you guys can practise speaking louder and more clearly. From Room 3
