Making Playdough

This week we got to make some playdough for our classroom. Maybe you could follow our instructions below and make some in your classroom or even at home! Let us know in the comments if you try making it and how it went!

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar
  • Up to 1 and a half cups boiling water - adding small amounts at a time until it feels just right.
Method:
  1. First we measured out the flour, salt, cream of tartar and vegetable oil into a bowl.
  2. Next we added our food colouring into the hot water so it would be mixed in evenly to the playdough. Keasi thought that it looked like a magical potion.
  3. After that we added the water and food colouring bit by bit into the flour mix and mixed it up.
  4. Then we waited for it to cool before we kneaded it until the stickiness was gone. We had to add a bit more flour too.
  5. Create with your playdough!
